GoatCounter is fundamentally different from other analytics services. By design, it makes it impossible to identify or track any individual user.
Here is what it anonymously counts:

- The browser and operating system you are using.
- Your screen size.
- Your country and region.
That is all. There is no personally identifiable information (PII) collected. Your IP address is never stored, and no data is ever used to create a behavioral profile of you.
Your Right to Opt-Out
We believe you should have the final say. While our analytics are anonymous, you can still choose to opt-out of this counting completely.
- By default we respect your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting.
